We had 18 attendees:  16 members / 1 area governor / 1 guest.  Meeting started on time and ended 7 minutes over.  Nadine subtly introduced some music at the end to wrap things up.  (Felt like we were at the Academy Awards!) Full agenda with 3 speeches and 4 table topics speakers.

Agenda was complete with signed up roles before the meeting (Good Job!). Awesome, actionable feedback by all three evaluators  =  We are there to improve!

Tip of the week came from Kyle – When you are speaking, don’t be surprised to see a bunch of blank faces staring back at you (as opposed to nodding and smiling).  Go ahead and SHINE anyway!

Other info / highlights:-           WOD = propitious – giving or indicating a good chance of success.  For example:  “The guest left the LKN Toastmasters meeting thinking it was a propitious event.”

–           Tony gave his ice breaker!  It had a solid format, was filled with humor and an easy to follow storyline.

 –           Sunny gave her 10th speech from the CC manual inspiring us that it’s OK to cry, just don’t give up!  She now is officially a Competent Communicator!

–           Nadine entertained the crowd with a speech on how to spot fake vs real info on the internet.  It was her final silver speech and she is going for gold!

–           Nadine also demonstrated a great way to use the space when giving a power point – Mix up movement to include standing at the back of the room as if you are in the audience (as opposed to just off to the side facing the audience)

.-           Have you heard of these:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klerksdorp_sphere

–           Angela pulled inspiration from American Ninja Warrior in Table Topics and Bruce compared life to an obstacle course – there is always another hurdle to get passed

.-           Area Governor, Patricia Lisun, advised us to input which speech you are doing on the agenda through the website so the VP of education can keep track.  Also put in an introduction for the Toastmaster.
