Newish member Sarah brought a co-worker guest – follow her lead and invite people to join us.

Truck race driver, Josh Stark, and his Dad rounded out the guests – he’s looking to Toastmasters to build media relation skills:  www.joshstarkracing.com

The website being down caused delays with the agenda – we started 7 minutes late and ended 5 minutes late.

August 20th was “National Radio Day”

–          Nadine reminded us:  “We are the Club” – TM is a volunteer club so we are what we make of it

–          Tony used us as practice for an upcoming speech he’ll be giving at work – Feel free to do the same!

–          Tom highlighted how seeing others grow is one of the best things about Toastmasters

–          Jerome spoke to the value of being able to speak impromptu in real life – especially if you are getting paid!

–          Griselda pointed out a good speech makes the audience “inclined to listen” and Sunny observed that watching others speak is a “learning opportunity”

–          Bob suggested voting for best speaker right after the last speech instead of waiting till later

–          No Meeting on Labor Day – September 3, 2018
