You have probably heard of death by PowerPoint… don’t you be the one that administers it!
The content in your slides is not the only thing that can inflect pain into your audience.
How you deliver the presentation is just as important.
Most of the time people stand to the side and point at the screen.
Instead, move around and mix up your position.
Periodically move to the back of the room and face the screen as if you are in the audience. This helps keep the audience’s attention and makes them feel as though you are in it with them.
This technique is especially effective when you ask a thought provoking question connected to a slide.
Obviously the room set up will dictate whether this is feasable, but if it is, GO FOR IT!
